Astonishing huge faux pearl clip-on earrings. These beauties are authentic 1980s vintage but look as if they were made yesterday. The goldtone framework supports an enormous central blister pearl surrounded by eight perfectly matching full pearls arranged like the spokes of a wheel.
The outer pearls are interspersed with tiny gold spheres. These earrings can be accurately dated to the 1980s as they are signed'Dubin' on the reverse. David Dubin was a briefly very famous jewellery designer opening for business in 1980 and closing in 1990.
In that one decade his designs became instantly sought-after and collected as they epitomised the brash and attention-seeking style of New York in the 1980s. Pieces are now scarce indeed, especially those in good, wearable condition. These earrings are immaculate with no scratches to the pearls or the metalwork and good secure clips.
